WHAT IT IS: Toast tongs
WHAT IT DOES: An anonymous reader tipped us to this handy kitchen helper, which allows you to remove toast, bagels, frozen waffles or anything else that gets stuck in your toaster - without getting shocked.
"I’ve had mine for many years, yet they are a novelty for my friends,” our reader wrote. “The tongs are needed now more than ever not just to remove stuck pieces of toast from a slot, but to retrieve slices that most toasters no longer raise up sufficiently to allow retrieval without getting one’s fingers burned. The tongs are not displayed on the wall which houses other small kitchen tools, but can be found in the small-appliance section, near the toasters.”
