Candidates for several important key offices are scheduled to participate in a pair of public forums scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 23, at Statesville High School’s Mac Gray Auditorium.
Doors open at 6 p.m. both nights. The forums are scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday evening, nine of the 10 candidates for three open seats on the Iredell County Commission will take center stage.
On Wednesday, two Republican candidates for the 95th District N.C. House seat, three candidates for district attorney and six candidates for the Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education are scheduled to participate in a second forum.
The candidates will have an opportunity to introduce themselves to the public before fielding questions from a panel. Audience will also have a chance to submit questions.
The forums are sponsored by the Statesville Record & Landmark, the Mooresville Tribune, WSIC Radio, Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce and the Iredell County Education Association.
The forums will be broadcast on WSIC and be available for viewing on this Your Vote 2008 Web site (http://www.aroundiredell.com/elections).
