Candidate for: Harmony Alderman Ward 2
Political Affiliation: Democrat
What are the biggest issues facing your constituency?
The sewer is the biggest, ongoing issue at this time. Also, the growth and change of Harmony in the future and keeping up with these changes will be an issue.
Of those issues, which do you feel is the most important?
Of course the sewer situation and the lack of funding has been a problem.
What, if any, prior experience do you have that will help you if elected?
I was employed by Hunt Corporation for 32 years, first as secretary to the Controller, then payroll supervisor for 20 years responsible for all exempt and hourly payrolls for all locations as well as all matters relating to payroll taxes, deductions, etc. I was a member of th American Payroll Association as long as I was employed.
I am past president of the Statesville Business and Professional Women’s Club. I am an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, currently serving as President of the Wesley Adult Fellowship (the Senior Group). I helped organize and am current chairman of the Harmony Friends of the Library. I am active in the Community Center. I am involved in the Fall Fest, the Harmony Cemetery update, and I have attended most of the Town Board Meetings.
Therefore, if elected, I am qualified to be an active, participating member of the Harmony Town Board.
What is one particular thing you think the council is doing right? Doing wrong?
They have not given up on getting a sewer system in Harmony.
