IREDELL IN TRANSITION

A look at our growing county

‘A great place to visit’

Riley Beatty, 8th grade, Woodlawn School

My life in Iredell County begs for more of my time spent there.  I don’t live there or go many places there.  I occasionally travel there for the shopping and participate in other activities that take place there, but mainly, my time in Iredell revolves around my school.  I attend Woodlawn School.  If all of Iredell mimicked the wonderful environment like that at my school, Iredell would be a great place to live.

A positive atmosphere surrounds my school.  Since it contains so few people, everyone knows each other.  You can always tell if a person goes to Woodlawn, because, chances are, you see them every day.  With only 130 kids, avoiding people proves quite difficult.  We also get to spend time outside, which makes for a good environment.  Spending time outside gives us a breath of fresh air in between classes.

In ten years, I hope Iredell County becomes cleaner.  Right now, it seems like a nice place, but parts are dirty.  I don’t live in Iredell, so I’m not an expert, but it seems that it could use a clean up.  However, it definitely has potential.

I believe Iredell could definitely become cleaner, and cleaning it up a little could do the trick.  It may sound like lots of work, but if everyone worked together, we could easily accomplish the job.

Iredell County, a great place to visit, seems like a great place to live.  My desire to spend more time there in the future hopefully comes true.
