IREDELL IN TRANSITION

A look at our growing county

‘A little more upper class and have less traffic’

Neal Bartl, 8th grade, Woodlawn School

Although I don’t spend much time there, Iredell County influences my life in significant ways, one of which is school. My school contains only about one hundred and twenty students or so, yet we all feel like a big family. Aside from school I visit Iredell County to play golf for my school team and just for fun. Either way my friends and I always end up having a great time. Occasionally during the summer I attend the Davidson College Day Camp at the Lake, a great summer camp where you can wakeboard and water ski and do whatever else you want to in the lake. This makes visiting Iredell County even more enjoyable. Many things define the area in which I go to school, some of which are Environmental protection and giving a helping hand to people that are less fortunate in society. In the future I would like to see Iredell County become a little more upper class and have less traffic. Both of these things I think will happen, but the traffic part will be challenging to sustain. Accidents do happen, so whenever there is one, the traffic will always be congested and there is nothing that can be done to bring that to an end (unless of course, cars can fly in 50 years).
