IREDELL IN TRANSITION

A look at our growing county

‘Iredell county has been a great place to grow up’

Amber van den Berg, Grade 6, Brawley Middle School

Hi, I am Amber van den Berg and this is Iredell County through my eyes. I have been living in Iredell county for my whole life. These are the three most important things in Iredell to me are school, sports, and how much Mooresville has grown.

I am currently attending my first year in Brawley Middle School. Which is a great school. I was nervous about the transition from elementary school to middle school because I thought it would be difficult with so many students. However, I fit right in and I have been selected to join Beta club. Also, I have had a great time in Iredell public schools because I have made many friends and the teachers are great. While Im at school I feel safe, and I look forward to my future.

When Im not at school I really enjoy playing my favorite sport softball and volleyball. While I play softball in the South Iredell Athletic Association, the games are always in order, and the fields are neat. We have a lot of parents that volunteer. Volleyball is also great. The teams have good sportsmanship and fair judges.

There has also been a tremendous amount of growth in Mooresville. There are plenty of shops and houses. The growth is good so there are more opportunities, and you can make more friends.

I would like Iredell County in ten years to have to have more hybrid cars and to have more public parks. In fifty years I would like there to be less pollution and a better environment. In fifty years there should be more schools so that everyone gets a good education.

Finally, Iredell county has been a great place to grow up. With all the sports, schools, and a healthy environment this is a great place to be!
