IREDELL IN TRANSITION

A look at our growing county

‘Iredell County Through the Eyes of a 13 Year Old’

Joseph Moran, Woodlawn School

The area of Iredell County is flourishing with untapped potential and with that potential could change itself drastically. Some of theses changes incorporate less traffic, increased trees, and added restaurants.

The roads of Iredell County have some of the worst traffic that I have ever seen. Whenever my parents plan to drive me somewhere, it might be quicker for me to walk. Since there is a new exit coming in near my house the building crew is faced with the difficult task of moving a road. In order for the construction to materialize the building crew must slash away at some helpless trees. Since this happens I would hope that when everything is all done; they are to plant some saplings to take the place of there former predecessors. I would also hop that with the incoming exit there might be more eating establishments, that I would have access to. With all these changes I hope that most if not all of them might occur within a small ten-year increment.

Certain events might not happen, since some of the current events conflict with my vision of Iredell. Less traffic in Iredell might happen, but then again it might not. With the new exit coming in near my house that might provide my area with more transportation. With this it might bring more restaurants, but it might bring more traffic along with it. These changes might or might not happen, only Iredell itself can predict what is to come.
