IREDELL IN TRANSITION

A look at our growing county

‘Listen the sounds are changing in Iredell’

Amber Silva, 6th grade, Brawley Middle School

Listen to the sounds of change in Iredell. What I think of Iredell is the day to day activities, area I live in, and what it would look like in ten or fifty years, and what I think it will be and if it will coincide.

First thing is the day-to-day activities and events I do in Iredell. One thing I do in Iredell is dance five days week from the time I get out of school until eight o’clock at night. My family and I go to the local events one time a month.

Next thing is what the area is like. I moved here five years ago and it is grown from a small County to large county. The area has gone from having small houses to big houses. Iredell has become one of the fastest growing areas. There are still old areas and wooded areas left.

Next thin is what the area will be like in ten or fifty years. In ten years, there will be no older areas but a few wooded areas. In fifty years there will be nothing but buildings and houses. Iredell keeps growing bigger and has less older and wooded areas.

Last are what I want the county to be and what the county is coincide. I want the county to be a growing county but still have the older and wood areas. The area will not be like that in the future because it is not now.

Listen the sounds are changing in Iredell. Iredell is day-to-day activities, area, what it would be like in years, what I want the county and what the county is coinciding.
