For me, the best thing about Iredell County is that it is my home. I have lived in Statesville for most of my life, and I feel like everything I need is here. I can play all kinds of sports here, and I have access to lots of things in nearby towns, too.

In Statesville, we just got a really nice library that is three stories high, and a new movie theater, called Marquee Cinemas. I go to Statesville Christian School, and I can play pretty much any sport through school, plus other extra-curricular activities. One thing Statesville does need, however, is a nicer mall.

Even though there is not a big mall in Statesville, there are several nice stores in Mooresville. Mooresville is growing really fast, and there are already two big shopping centers there. There is a Target, Radio Shack, Pier 1, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Old Navy, and even other stores. Across the street from the Target shopping center, there are other stores, including Cold Stone Creameries – their ice cream is delicious. My favorite restaurant in Mooresville is Monterrey, a Mexican restaurant. People can also go bowling in the new bowling alley that just opened behind Target.

One other area in Iredell County is Lake Norman. The lake is really nice, and people can go boating or skiing on it. There are also challenge and classic soccer leagues there.

In addition to all this, there are also historical landmarks in the county, including Fort Dobbs in Statesville. I like Iredell County like it is now, but I hope all of its cities continue to grow.
