Occupation: Spanish teacher, Lake Norman High School

What are the biggest issues facing your constituency?
Improvements to the Mooresville Mill Village including infrastructure and green space; a sense of community within a rapidly growing town; contiuning to be a highly desireable place to live; issues that come along with the town’s expansion such as reducing traffic congestion and having planned growth.

Of those issues, which do you feel is the most important?
I think to the residents of the Mill Villiage the focus from their commisioner should be the town’s relationship with the Mill Villiage as well as quality of life in their neighborhood. As a town comissioner, I hope to provide all residents a high quality of satisfaction with what the town does for them and with the services offered.

What, if any, prior experience do you have that will help you if elected?
I served on the La Crosse County (WI) Board of Supervisors for one term from 2002-2004 before moving to Mooresville.

What is one particular thing you think the council is doing right? Doing wrong?
I think the surveys they have conducted on pedestrians, bicycling, etc. are a great step towards progress but the results really need to be implemented. The plans for the skate park as well as the other new parks are great, but so much more could be done to KEEP Mooresville on lists of best places to live (Money Magazine etc.) I think the board needs to be more focused on the future of the town than they currently are.
