What are the biggest issues facing your constituency?
Transportation, education, water/sewer, sustainable development, community investment

Sustainable development

What, if any, prior experience do you have that will help you if elected?
In addition to my 20 years as a sales & marketing professional, I have participated in leadership classes, focused on community involvement and had the opportunity to enhance my skills by serving on various committees and boards.  This has given me experience in cultivating relationships and producing results. I have proven abilities that include working and managing people, and building cross-functional and highly performing teams. I have well-honed leadership skills, the ability to communicate at a variety of levels and I approach problem solving in creative ways. These skills will be invaluable when serving the Town Of Mooresville as they are ultimately what is needed to continue to move our community forward in the coming years.

The experience I have gained through my involvement with the following organizations will help me if elected:

  • Chair, Board of Directors Exchange/SCAN Child & Parenting Centers of Iredell County
  • Chair, Mooresville Historic Preservation Commission
  • Board of Directors, Mooresville Museum
  • Community Investment Council, United Way Central Carolinas 2006-2007
  • Focus Area Grant Council, United Way Central Carolinas 2006
  • Mooresville Pedestrian Steering Committee 2006
  • Leadership Class MSI 2005-2006 (Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce)
  • Chair, Mooresville Ethics Advisory Committee 2005
  • Mooresville Citizens Academy 2004-2005
  • Saint Patrick’s Episcopal Church Vestry, Senior Warden
  • Active participant in Stocks for Tots and Exchange Club
  • North Carolina Motorsports Association
  • National Sports Marketing Network, Charlotte Chapter

What is one particular thing you think the commission is doing right?
Recognizing the need for, and supporting the development of a Comprehensive Land-Use and Transportation Plan, an Economic Development Strategic Plan, and a Town Management Strategic Plan- Vision 2010 Moving Mooresville Forward.

These plans provide a roadmap for what is needed and the framework for how we can continue to move Mooresville forward. They focus not only on today, but five to 10 years from now and lay the groundwork to ensure that the quality of life in Mooresville remains strong and that in the coming decades, Mooresville will remain a desirable place to live & work.

What is one particular thing you think the commission is doing wrong?
