Clay Brown wasted no time showing he was serious about making a bid for the 2A state championship golf tournament.
Brown eagled the first hole of Monday’s 2A regional, grabbing momentum early and never letting go. He shot a 73 and finished third overall.
And he did most of it on his own as coach David Foster was shuttling between golfers.
“This regional was a little different as far as how the kids were spaced out,” South coach David Foster said. “I only got to see Clay play a few holes, but I think that eagle probably set the stage for his confidence.”
