Couch places fourth in 800 runFrom staff reports GREENSBORO—Carly Couch gave South Iredell a top-five finish in Friday’s 2A state track and field championships at N.C. A&T University. Couch placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 25.66 seconds — less than eight seconds out of first place. Couch dropped a little more than two seconds off her winning time at last Saturday’s Midwest Regional. The Vikings picked up three more top-15 finishes at the state meet. The boys’ 4x100 relay team, consisting of Michael Clarke, Tevin Ikard, Darryl Parker and Anthony Thwaites, placed ninth with a time of 43.86 seconds. Thwaites sprinted to a 10th-place finish in the 100 dash, clocking in at 11.23 seconds. Courtney Saddler raced to a 14th-place time of 14.34 seconds in the girls’ 100 dash. Bookmarkz |
