Jordan Daywalt thrust herself over the bar at 11 feet, 6 inches Friday to win the 3A girls pole vault state championship for the second straight year.
The senior vaulted higher than the 1A, 2A and 4A state champions, too.
No one in any of the four classifications outvaulted Daywalt in the state finals last year either, although Joanna Wright of Winston-Salem Reynolds posted 11-6 in the 4A meet to match Daywalt’s 3A title-winning effort.
