The pitching rotation for North’s baseball team looks to be in fairly good shape. The Raiders will lose ace Aaron Johnson, who has signed with Limestone, but return a lot of arms.
North Iredell’s softball team finished seventh in the North Piedmont 3A this season, one spot away from making the playoffs.

Nursing an injured right hamstring, the Mooresville junior quickly slowed his pace and limped to the finish line during Friday’s 3A track and field championships.

Mooresville’s boys track team won its second consecutive 3A state championship Friday at North Carolina A&T’s Irwin Belk Track and polished off a season sweep of the three 3A state running championships – cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.
It’s going to be a hectic weekend for Jasmine Morris.
She will be locked in on performing well in the 200-meter run and long jump Friday at the 3A track and field championship meet, held at North Carolina A&T.
Her mindset will then give way to hairdos and formal wear hours later.

North’s baseball team couldn’t quite get what coach Matthew Poole was searching for in the season’s final week.
The bus rides to and from away games were where senior Kawoni Revels left her mark on the girls soccer team this year.
It’s been more than a year since senior Cuadarius Teasley played a sport at North Iredell.
He’s more than made up for lost time.

Despite pulling out a 12-8 win Monday over South Rowan, the Raiders will not advance to the 3A baseball playoffs.
Travis Campbell was the surprise star for North’s golf team during last week’s Iredell County championship.
Don’t be surprised if it’s someone unexpected who makes a few big plays for the Raiders during tonight’s playoff soccer game against Jamestown Ragsdale.
Jasmine Morris and Amy Shelton will both compete in two events at Saturday’s 3A track and field West Regionals at Asheville Roberson.

Trailing by one run with two outs in the seventh inning and its season on the line, the Wildcats clawed their way to a dramatic 5-4 win over North Iredell on Friday in a must-win game.

Lake Norman’s Travis Taylor won last year’s Iredell County golf championship after breaking his driver.
He repeated as champion Tuesday with a broken hand.
North junior Josh McMahan, a 245-pound linebacker, took part in the Shrine Bowl combine last week.
Travis Cartner and Jerry Widner paced the Raiders at last week’s 18-hole conference tournament. Cartner had a 92 and Widner finished with a 96.
Two-sport athlete Zach Spencer had signed to play football with Guilford College.
Keeper Kawoni Revels will rejoin North for tonight’s soccer game against South Rowan after suffering a back injury.
North Iredell senior Tyler Christenberry is known as a smart, defensive-minded catcher. He calls pitches for the Raiders and teams rarely run on him due to his strong arm.
But Christenberry’s most notable contribution this year has come at the plate.

With ace Aaron Johnson pitching well and Nick Burwell and Brett Earnest providing depth, North’s baseball team is tied for the North Piedmont 3A’s final playoff berth.
As soon as the game against Mooresville ended, members of North Iredell’s soccer team stormed the field and pounced on keeper Kawoni Revels.
It may have been the wildest celebration ever after an 8-1 defeat.

Freshman Hannah Mack spotted the hole in the defense and fed fellow freshman Courtney Smith for a beautiful one-touch goal that started the second-half scoring barrage in Mooresville’s 8-1 win Monday over North Iredell.
The Blue Devils, nursing a 2-0 halftime lead, scored five goals in the opening 15 minutes of the second half against the depleted Raiders (4-5 overall, 3-5 NPC).

After lining a shot to left field that took an awkward bounce and rolled to the wall, North Iredell’s Tyler Jordan let out an audible groan when coach Matthew Poole held him at third base.
“I wanted to keep rolling,” Jordan said with a grin.

North Iredell’s girls basketball team saw its season end Monday with a 47-38 loss to Kings Mountain, the top 3A seed from the Southwestern Conference.
After a successful junior season, North pitcher Aaron Johnson returns as the ace of the Raiders rotation.
North Iredell will lose four seniors from this year’s boys basketball team, including three who started most of the season. But junior Tyrece Scott is coming back, and that’s a big reason why coach Tony Davenport is already excited about the future.
