Barber, Rucker give West a dual threat in hurdlesBy Brian Meadows
West Iredell hurdlers could have a big day Saturday in 3A track and field West Regional at Asheville Roberson. Mark Barber and Jermail Rucker are both seeded high in hurdle events. Barber is seeded second in the 110-meter hurdles. He won the event at last week’s North Piedmont Conference track and field championships. Barber is seeded fifth in the 300 hurdles. Rucker, who won the NPC title in the 300 hurdles, is one spot ahead of him.
They can qualify for the state meet by finishing in the top four.
