Blue Devils snap Warriors’ win streak

MOORESVILLE — Chris Beaver pitched four solid innings Friday and Mooresville snapped West Iredell’s three-game winning streak with a 7-5 North Piedmont 3A victory.
Beaver allowed one run on four hits and three walks as the Blue Devils improved to 18-4 (13-4 NPC). He struck out five.
Will Feimster and Ethan Suarez each had two hits for the Warriors. Feimster also drove in two runs.
Cody Clanton and Chase LeVan each added a hit and an RBI.
Brian Romito suffered the loss. He pitched five innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks.
The Warriors (8-14, 5-12 NPC) host Carson (9-13, 7-10 NPC) in Monday’s regular-season finale.
West Iredell won’t make the playoffs, but it could play spoiler. Carson is tied with North Iredell and Lake Norman for sixth place in the conference. The league gets six playoff berths.
