Mooresville’s girls soccer team stands alone in second place in the NPC after a 3-2 victory against Northwest Cabarrus on Thursday in the driving rain.

The Blue Devils are 7-1 in NPC play and ranked No. 7 in the state among 3A schools.

“It was huge, especially in the rain,” Mooresville senior Emmie Tyson said. “It was ugly because they don’t have the best field anyway, so it was real sloppy and poured the whole first half.”
