Cobras prepare for 2008 season with fundraiser
Organizing officials for the local-based Mooresville Cobras 12-and-under and 13-and-under tournament caliber youth baseball teams aren’t wasting any time getting the ball rolling for the upcoming 2008 competition season.
This month alone, beginning as early as this weekend, the Cobras are setting into motion matters helping them additionally prepare for the fast-approaching campaign.
Saturday, a fundraising event is taking place in the form of an authentic taco dinner being held in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church.
Cost of the meal is $7 each for adults, and $5 each for youth ages 12 and below. The price includes a drink. Items can be purchased to eat in the host facility as well as for take-out orders.
The feasting will be held from 5-8 p.m.
All of the proceeds realized from the dinner will be put into use by the Cobras.
In order to get the team in order on the field, open tryouts have also be scheduled to take place this month as well.
An invitation has been extended to any and all wishing to participate to attend the tryouts for the U-12 and U-13 Mooresville Cobras. Ages of all involved are effective as of April 30.
The tryouts will be held Jan. 12, from 12-2 p.m. at the Magla Park field. All eligible players interested in attending are encouraged to do so. Proof of age will be required.
The tryouts are only for those players ages 12 and 13 as of the age limit date. All attending must provide their own equipment.
