Johnson Ks 9; Raiders edge Warriors

OLIN - Aaron Johnson pitched six solid innings Friday as North Iredell built a five-run lead and held on for a 6-4 North Piedmont 3A win over West Iredell.
Johnson allowed four runs on five hits and five walks while striking out nine to earn the win. Nick Burwell picked up the save.
Johnson and Tyler Jordan notched two singles each, and Tyler Christenberry registered a pair of doubles for the Raiders (5-2, 3-2 NPC).
Brennan Daniels suffered the loss. He threw three innings, surrendering four runs on six hits and two walks. Sam Laws pitched three innings in relief.
West rallied from a 6-1 deficit in the top of the fifth when Michael Gatton belted a three-run homer run. But the Warriors (2-5, 0-5 NPC) couldn’t draw closer.
Gatton also had a single. Brian Romito cranked out a double.
