It has member Christian Johnson of Iron Station to thank for that. Johnson (center) recently successfully repeated his right to once again advance to the N.C. State Junior BASS Championships based on his performance in a recent qualifying event. He boated a limit of five bass weighing in at 8.41 pounds to again emerge as the winner of his Senior Division for fishermen ages 15-18. For that, Johnson will join forces with other winners to determine the state’s best youth angler in the Junior Bassmasters event set to take place in March.
Among other qualifiers, Bubba Cribb (at right) from the Hiddenite Junior Bass Club won the Junior Division comprised of anglers 11-14 with a three-fish bag weighing in at 5.18 pounds, while Jeremy Craig, also of the Hiddenite group, snared the event’s biggest fish with a lunker that weighed in at 3.27 pounds.
