Lake Norman avenges last year’s playoff loss, marches onFrom staff reports MOORESVILLE — Lake Norman’s girls soccer team blanked Porter Ridge 2-0 in the second round of the 3A state playoffs Saturday. It was the first time this season the Pirates (19-5-1), the No. 2 seed from the South Piedmont Conference, had been shut out. Hannah Graham and Sarah Tang scored for the Wildcats (22-1-1), who were eliminated by Porter Ridge in the 2007 quarterfinals.
Lake Norman will host Southwest Guilford in the third round.
