Lake Norman hopes to keep win streak goingBy BRIAN MEADOWS
The Greyhounds walloped everyone in the 2007 playoffs en route to the 3A state championship. Including a 6-0 win over Burlington Williams in the state final, Statesville won 28 of 29 individual matches in the playoffs. The Wildcats (16-0) were similarly convincing in last week’s first round, beating St. Stephens 9-0. Don’t start drawing parallels just yet, Lake Norman coach Chris Carroll said. “Statesville cruised. I don’t think anybody is going to cruise through it like they did,” said Carroll, whose team hosts North Buncombe today in the second round. “That’s a once-in-a-lifetime team that they had last year.” Bookmarkz |
