Lions reach SPAA title gameFrom staff reports Ali Burgiss scored in the second 10-minute overtime period Friday night, lifting Statesville Christian to a 1-0 victory over Gaston Day in the South Piedmont Athletic Association tournament semifinals. Sue Ann Burgess assisted the game-winning goal. The Lions (9-7) play SouthLake Christian on Monday in the SPAA championship.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at SouthLake Christian.
