Lions stumble in NCISAA playoffs

Statesville Christian couldn’t get its offense going Tuesday, falling to Wayne Christian 47-35 in the first round of the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association tournament.
With leading scorer Katie Lamm limited due to illness, the Lions (14-12) struggled with their shot and scored just six points in the fourth quarter. Logan Bearfield scored 10 points to lead SCS, while Abby Baity added eight.
Hope Wright scored 20 points for Wayne, while Jennifer Price added 15 and Charity Wright contributed 10.
