Mayberry gives team another offensive weaponBy Brian Meadows Sarah Ann Waugh has had several multiple-goal games this season for the Greyhounds, but the sophomore has benefited from the addition of Storm Mayberry. A freshman with exceptional speed and skill, Mayberry gives Statesville a dual threat at forward. “When she gets (the ball) at her feet, she is very dangerous,” coach Jennifer Husbands said of Mayberry, who ripped a potential game-tying shot off the crossbar late in a 5-3 loss to Mooresville.
