Mooresville Rec now accepting volleyball, basketball

Girls, it seems, will be the ones having all the fun courtesy of a pair of events scheduled to get underway early in 2008 and being conducted through the Mooresville Recreation Department.

The MRD is currently registering participants for both its planned volleyball and basketball clinics on tap to take place throughout the months of January and February. There is no charge to take part in either affair, but sign-ups in advance are required as only a limited number of vacancies are available for each.

The MRD will be hosting fee volleyball clinics on Tuesdays, beginning Jan. 8. The sessions will be held through Feb. 26 taking place from 4-5:30 p.m. in the War Memorial Building gym.

The clinics are for youth ages 11-16. The series of classes will focus on the basic fundamentals of volleyball.

The MRD will also be the site of girls basketball clinics. These gatherings will be held on Thursdays, beginning Jan. 10, and will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. also taking place in the War Memorial gym.

Youth ages 11-16 are eligible to participate. Again, the series will be focusing no the basic fundamentals of the game of basketball.

With registration well underway, all interested are encouraged to contact the MRD athletic office, at 704-663-7026, for more details on the volleyball and basketball clinics.
