Senior Heather Nellis has verbally committed to play softball next season at Greensboro College, citing respect for head coach Kama Tucker and the school’s academics.

“I’m very excited about it,” Nellis said. “Coach Tucker, she’s pretty cool, and it’s a small school that has my major, athletic training.”

Greensboro College finished 32-10 last season and was ranked as high as No. 10 in the nation among Division III schools.

Several seniors will be in Florida on the annual senior trip, leaving the Raiders a bit thin.
