Noone, Wildcats score low, win matchFrom staff reports Joey Noone posted the only under-par round Thursday, leading Lake Norman to an NPC win at Lakewood Golf Club. Noone fired a 1-under-par 35 on the front nine to finish in first place. Mooresville’s Josh Nelson was second with a 37, and Lake Norman’s Donnie Besecker and Micah Moffett both shot 38s to tie for third. The Wildcats’ four best scores totaled 150, besting second-place Mooresville by 12 strokes. Statesville took third with a 166. Dalyn Bellingham’s 39 paced the Greyhounds. James Malzi carded a 40 and finished ninth to lead West Iredell. The Wildcats are now 63 shots ahead of second-place Mooresville in the overall team standings. Lake Norman’s Will Cotter shot a 42 on Thursday, but the senior still leads the individual standings by three strokes over Nelson. Bookmarkz |
