Pennell shines as Warriors shut out DevilsFROM STAFF REPORTS Pennell struck out 17 and allowed one hit to pick up the win. Crystal Beam, Kaylyn Chapman, Kara Dawkins and Kendayl Waugh each had two hits for the Warriors (5-4, 4-3 North Piedmont 3A), who are in fourth place in the conference. Dawkins, who matched Waugh’s two runs scored, belted a pair of doubles. A.J. Campbell broke up Pennell’s no-hitter in the fifth inning for Mooresville’s only hit of the game.
