Raiders pick up big conference win

OLIN — Tyler Christenberry had no trouble at the plate Tuesday, hammering two home runs in North Iredell’s 6-3 win over Northwest Cabarrus.
Christenberry was 4-for-4 with three runs and 3 RBIs.
Nick Burwell earned the win. He pitched five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks. Burwell struck out two.
The Raiders improved to 7-7 overall and 5-7 in the North Piedmont 3A. They are a half-game back of Carson and Lake Norman, which are tied for fifth in in the league standings.
Aaron Johnson and Brett Earnest each had two hits against Northwest Cabarrus (11-6, 7-5 NPC).
