West football standout Quan Rucker attended the Shrine Bowl combine at Alexander Central in Taylorsville over the weekend.
“It was fun, but I didn’t do as well as I wanted to,” said Rucker, a junior who has multiple scholarship offers from Division I colleges, including Illinois, N.C. State and Virginia.
Rucker took part in defensive back and receiving drills and ran the 40-yard dash and pro shuttle. He slipped coming off the block both times he was clocked in 40.
“It was horrible,” Rucker said, “but I’m really not too worried about it.”
On the bench press, the 6-foot, 183-pound receiver who averaged more than 12 yards per catch last season, lifted 185 pounds 14 times.
