SIAA sign-ups set for this weekend

Spring, in the eyes and information center within the South Iredell Athletic Association, has sprung.

The SIAA is currently making plans to conduct its registration for the upcoming spring youth softball and baseball seasons. Softball is available to participants ages 7-12, while baseball gets an even younger start by providing outlets for players age 5-12.

A sign-up session is scheduled to take place this weekend, it being held Saturday at Dick’s Sporting Goods from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

All interested can also register online at http://www.sisasports.countmein.com.

Cost of participating varies by age group. Deadline to enter is Feb. 29.

Practices will then take place from March 5 through April 12,with games getting underway April 14 and continuing through league tournament play that ends June 7.

The league is also actively recruiting youth team coaches as well as any area individuals, businesses and/or corporations wishing to serve as sponsors. Sponsors have the opportunity to place their company names on shirts and also receive mentions and links on the SIAA official website.

The SIAA is an all-volunteer and non-profit organization, serving the Mooresville and Lake Norman area.  Its mission is to provide a positive impact in the lives of area school-aged youth through recreational programs such as softball and baseball as well as basketball and volleyball.

For additional details, all interested can contact Julie Cole at 704-906-3511.
