Statesville’s boys track and field team added Adrian Sloan, a well-rounded athlete who plays football and basketball. The senior came out for track for the first time this season. Sloan is projected to run in the 400-meter race, possibly more. He will be a big help because of his work ethic, coach Sonny Schofield said.

“It ain’t hard to get Adrian to work,” said Schofield, who coached Sloan on the basketball court.
