Kathryn Vance was Statesville’s goalkeeper last year, but the sophomore sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament playing club soccer, Greyhounds girls soccer coach Jennifer Husbands said.

“The only place (on the field) I don’t know where we’re going to fall yet (this season) is our goalie,” Husbands said.

Freshman Natalie Stein is primarily manning the Statesville net right now. She made 16 saves in the Greyhounds’ 5-1 win over North Iredell this week.
