Only a sophomore, Kelsey Spangler has established herself as the go-to pitcher for South’s softball team.
An improved Spangler throws a harder fastball this season and developed new pitches over the summer.
“You can tell a tremendous difference and know that she worked hard over the summer and during workouts in preseason,” South coach Josh Bumgarner said. “She’s got a little more velocity on her fastball.
“She’s always had a great curveball, but has worked on other movement pitches that will help complement that curveball she has.”
