South Iredell’s boys track team will get the benefit of a healthy Anthony Thwaites for the rest of the season.

Thwaites, who anchors the team’s 400-meter relay squad and throws shot put, is recovered from a hip pointer.

Despite not looking like a typical thrower, the 5-foot-10 Thwaites won the shot put at Lake Norman earlier this year.

“He’s built,” South coach Brent Bustle said. “He’s got the form and he’s got the technique, he’s doing it right. That’s more important than anything else.”
