U-12 Coyotes howl as division champs

Stellar all-around play proved to be just the ticket as the newly-formed group of under-12 Coyotes kicked aside their rookie status to emerge as the victors of this fall’s South Iredell Soccer Association age division champions.

The Coyotes prevailed in a second sudden-death shootout to take top team bragging rights. In the title bout, the Coyotes took the lead and then weathered overtime and one sudden-death frame before surfacing as winners to draw their successful inaugural campaign to a close.

Among those making the feat possible included, front row from left; Ian Cook, Jack Schaffner, Jacob Steele, Danny deRoos, Sahil Panjwani, Michael Crisp, and Tyler Bistok. Second row, from left; coach Jeff deRoos, Matthew Ehninger, Gabe Frasier, Michael Gibson, Austin Carr and Wyatt Bailey. Patrick Sheehan and Davis Smith are also members of the squad.
