GIRLS BASKETBALL: Victory Christian 54, Statesville Christian 21

Victory Christian too tough for Lions

Alexis Hicks scored 16 points and Candace Wood, who’s committed to the University of North Carolina, added 12 as Victory Christian rolled to a 54-21 win over Statesville Christian on Tuesday.

Victory Christian dominated the first and third quarters, combining to outscore the Lions 36-8 in the two periods.

Katie Lamm scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Statesville Christian (10-7, 0-3 South Piedmont Athletic Associa-tion). Drew Burgiss pitched in with five points to go along with her three steals.
