Vikings turn focus to glovework

South Iredell’s defense, while not perfect, was much better in Tuesday’s 3-0 baseball loss to West Lincoln.

“I told the kids to put that loss on me,” South coach Trey Ramsey said. “From last Wednesday’s loss to Statesville, with another seven- or eight-error game, until (Tuesday), we did not hit on the field. We spent about 30 minutes in the cage and about three, three-and-a-half hours on defense.

“I think we’ve still got a chance to be in the top three in the conference.”
