Warriors continue impressive play

The Iredell Warriors dominated the rival Catawba Hornets on Saturday in a 28-6 win.

It was the second easy win over the Hornets this season for hte Warriors (7-0). Iredell outgained Catawba 291-87 on Saturday.

Quarterback Roger Alexander scored three times for the Warriors on runs of 1, 1 and 3 yards. He finished with 55 rushing yards while passing for 181 yards.

Alphonzo Miller caught four passes for 138 yards. Running back Monty Knox finished with 41 yards on six carries, including a 22-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

The Warriors defense helped win the field position battle, as Iredell’s final three scoring drives were all of 42 yards or fewer.

Curtis Lynch scored the Hornets’ lone touchdown late in the game on a 25-yard pass from Dion Lynch.

The Warriors will travel to face the Durham Rattlers on Saturday.
