Wildcats dominate in battle of top NPC teamsFROM STAFF REPORTS The Wildcats (7-0 overall, 1-0 NPC) also beat Newton-Conover, last year’s 2A state runner-up, 8-1 earlier this month. Andrew McKinnon won with ease at No. 1 singles for Lake Norman, beating Tripp Hawkins 6-1, 6-1. He also teamed with Trey McKee for an 8-1 win over Hawkins and Luke Gillis at No. 1 doubles.
