Morganton’s Bradley Woodie left a lasting impression on his fellow competitors in the final Balls Creek Bass Tournament of the season held earlier this month on Lake Norman.
Woodie bagged a limit of five bass that weighed in at an impressive 9.38 pounds to take top overall honors, and he also swept the finale’s accolades by also hooking the affair’s largest single catch. It was a bass that tipped the official weigh-in scales at 3.789 that was also worth that category’s bonus prize. Winner Woodie puts some his day’s winning catch on display.
Hickory’s Bron Hemphill placed second with 7.67 pounds, followed in third by Conover’s Gary Canipe with his five fish that checked I at 7.62 pounds. Of those in the field, 24 brought fish to the weigh-in site. The club will christen its 2008 tournament season the middle of next month.
