Slow starts in both halves doomed Statesville Christian in a 56-46 loss to Woodland Christian on Friday.
The Lions (2-1) were outscored 38-21 in the first and third quarters combined, but held a 25-18 advantage in the second and fourth quarters.
Logan Bearfield poured in 18 points to lead Statesville Christian.
Holly Gammons led all scorers with 25 points for Woodland. Laura Martin and Carlena McGee added 12 points apiece.
