Youth baseball tryouts this weekend

Tryouts are scheduled for any and all youngsters meeting the age qualifications and wishing to secure a roster spot on either one of a Mooresville-based 12-and-under and 13-and-under tournament caliber baseball teams for the upcoming spring season.

Tryouts are in place and invitations are being extended to all wishing to attend.

The sessions will be held this weekend, taking place Saturday from noon-2 p.m. at the field at Magla Park.

Teams being assembled are those that will participate in United States Specialty Sports Association events that will begin early next spring.

The tryouts are being specifically catered to area players age 12 and 13. Ages are effective as of how old the respective players will be as of April 30 of next year. The date for age limits is set by the USSSA.

Only 12-year-old and 13-year-old players wishing to attempt to nail down a spot on the respective teams are asked to attend. All doing so are also requested to bring their own equipment. All may also be required to provide information for proof of age.
